Welcome to 2020!!  This year looks to bring a great deal of excitement and change to our school district.  As a reminder, there is no school on Monday for students or staff as we observe MLK Day, and there is no school for students on Tuesday as our staff will be participating in professional development.

At the regular board meeting in January, we swore in our two newest board members; Mr. Ben DeGroat and Mrs. Spencer Izor.  Additionally, senior Mackenzie Hoog was recognized for her recent selection as the Ohio Fairs’ Queen.  This is a tremendous honor for her as she is the first person in the history of the program from Montgomery County to hold this title.  We know that as she travels around the state of Ohio, she will represent our community with pride and dignity.  Jozey Kelhoffer and Kotlynn Holler presented their project for Invention Convention.  This state level competition project goes to demonstrate the amazing levels of performance and excellence being attained in our elementary schools.  Finally, we recognized our Students and Staff of the 2nd Quarter.  These students and staff are just a fraction of the many outstanding students and staff that we have at Valley View.

Attached to this post is a document of the January board reports. These documents are from each of the building principals and our Director of Student Services and our Director of Curriculum and Instruction. They give a unique insight as to what is going on in the buildings.  Please take a few minutes to give them a read.

Most of you are aware that Valley View will be on the ballot March 17th for a combined bond and operating levy.  You can click HERE to see a map of the proposed land area being acquired for the project and a projected construction site.  Additionally, at the bottom of that link is an FAQ document that will hopefully answer most questions.  As always, if you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.  For those needing assistance with registering to vote, you can go to the Montgomery County Board of Elections website for assistance.

Proud to be your Superintendent,
Ben Richards
